Is it a real give name?

[edit]

I always thought it is a contraction of ’Ab (أَب) (father), and prefix al / el / ul (ال, just like Abdul:

It isn't a given name. It should be a redirect to Abu or kunya (Arabic)

Redirect to Abu will be confusing, because it is a disambig page , and kunya (Arabic) does not explain 'abul', only 'abu'. --Altenmann >talk 19:20, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
FYI Abu and Abul are the exact same thingAbo Yemen 05:55, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think it should be a page but feel free to add some content at the top explaining its etymology and use to transcribe abu-al in historical names. The modern examples seem to be using it as an actual name. GordonGlottal (talk) 23:15, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
