Removed stale POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV
[edit]An old neutrality tag that appears to have no active discussion has been removed from this page per the instructions at Template:POV:
- This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever any one of the following is true:
- There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved.
- It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given.
- In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.
The article cites a wider range of sources than it did when the tag was added in November 2013, at this time there is no obvious overarching NPOV problem, and there is no evidence of ongoing discussion of neutrality, so I've removed the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! --Worldbruce (talk) 05:07, 5 July 2017 (UTC)
Mohd. Toukir Hamid's changes to infobox
[edit]Mohd. Toukir Hamid has recently made substantial changes to this article's infobox. Some are beneficial, such as: the addition of the Bir Uttom honorific prefix, the addition of commands held, and the additions of his spouse, brother, and number of children. Other changes are problematic, and have been reverted.
- It is unacceptable to remove from the infobox, without explanation: his date and place of birth, date and place of death, cause of death, political party, and years of service, all of which are sourced in the article.
- The sources cited for the addition of the other name "Colonel of Crutches" are newspaper reviews of Shahaduz Zaman's novel/play by that name. Modern-day newspapers are generally poor sources for biographies of historical figures. These are not evidence that it is a notable other name for Taher, or that anyone other than Shahaduz Zaman has ever used it.
- The source cited for the addition of the nickname "Nantu" is a newspaper opinion piece. Opinion pieces or editorials are not reliable sources for facts, only for the opinions of the writer. In any case, the nickname does not appear in the source.
- According to Template:Infobox person/doc, children and parents should not be named in the infobox unless they themselves are notable.
If you do not see how these violate Wikipedia's policies, guidelines, and conventions, then per the bold, revert, discuss cycle, before reinstating the edit, please discuss the matter here until consensus is reached. --Worldbruce (talk) 14:56, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
