Banker

[edit]

I took the liberty of posing my banking theory without references, but sources on this guy, especially in English, are few.

The quotation of his full name comes from Maqdisi's outfit Tawhed.

I add a few references to prop up my claim. This article could use some expert assistance from Moscow :)

It is not certain that al-Urduni was a member of al-Qaeda in Iraq. Altough he was mentioned by Colin Powell as being a member of an international network headed by al-Zarqawi. Al-Urduni himself has never admitted to being a member of al-Qaeda. ForrestSjap 14:35, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

al-Urduni did a video for as-Sahab during the year or so after the death of Abu Omar and the death of Urduni himself. (BTW in January this year the Russkies reported that they had destroyed the last jihadi cell in Dagestan, a group of 5 called Jama'at Shariah.) I'll try to dig up the Urduni video and see what he has to say :) LDH 20:46, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't yet found the video, so I removed the AQ-Iraq claim, for now anyway. The Wiki article Abu Hafs al-Urduni has most of the few good references available about al-Urduni, and mentions that according to some Russian reports, he was Saudi and not Jordanian. I once read a Russian claim that al-Urduni was "the purse of the Wahhabis". Wahhabism is banned in Russia, and I don't think anybody doubts that the money for the "jihad" against Russia comes from the Arabian Peninsula. LDH 01:53, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
