Coronary Care Unit

[edit]

I heard in 1978 that the (then fairly new) coronary care unit, which had been funded by a private donation, had been accepted with poor grace by the hospital board, which had insisted on using one half of the circular ward as a surgical day unit (the surgery taking place in the main hospital): as a result the CCU had to operate an upper age limit of 65 years. I saw nothing in print about this, but it was in keeping with the Medical School's having a strong Health Economics Unit. NRPanikker (talk) 16:03, 10 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
