(1) Ph.D (2) citizenship (3) profession fields in infobox

[edit]

An editor desires to remove the following details from the infobox: (1) ...(Ph.D., 1984) (2) Citizenship: dual U.S.Libyan (3) Occupation: electrical engineering professor [ref: Sheridan, Mary Beth (November 1, 2011), Dual U.S.-Libyan citizen chosen as prime minister of Libya, Washington Post]. However, I believe consensus at template:Infobox officeholder#Personal data would indicate such fields are often of note and indeed these particular details are mentioned many times within reliable sources. Such notability seems to trump what ostensibly is only an argument of wp:DONTLIKEIT. What do other editors think? (FWIW, Ph.Ds--advisable for academic research but not necessary to become a practicing, lic'd engineer--are very difficult to get, hence are relatively "rare," (undergrad) EE assoc. professors even often lacking them; and extremely rare is a US-citizen that is a foreign head of state.)--Hodgson-Burnett's Secret Garden (talk) 14:57, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Council voted on whether the Prime Minister of Libya could have another citizenship besides his Libyan one, which may confirm the speculations that the current Vice President of the Executive Office of the Minister of Finance and Oil, Ali Tarhouni, who holds U.S. citizenship as well as the Libyan nationality might be nominated for the position.----BENGHAZI-EMAD HAJJAJ, "Negotiations on Dual Citizenship Might Be in Tarhouni’s Favour," Arabs Today, 31 October 2011

Thanks, Dystopos. I've restored the data, adopting the format used at the feature article Barack Obama. diff--Hodgson-Burnett's Secret Garden (talk) 17:35, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm not getting the case you're trying to build here, i got the assumption you feel these info boxes:(1)(2)(3) should say, and they should, but i'm not catching the whole extremely rare and the article you've referenced here, anyway, I've been re-editing the infobox over and over, because someone keeps removing stuff. I just added the nationality along with "Transitional" to the info box, and no sight of profession anyway. In Allah We Trust (talk) 17:46, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
