[edit]This article gives basic information on Abbie. Besides, it is a different encyclopedia, so it shows an unbiased structure for writing. This source is not the most useful to me just because it is fundamental. That being said, it does provide information that lays the groundwork for starting this project. It was my starting point when I began researching her. It falls under Wikipedia good source because it is unbiased and an established credible source. “Ferguson, Abbie Park (1837-1919) and Bliss, Anna Elvira (1843-1925) | History of Missiology.” 2020. Bu.Edu. 2020. http://www.bu.edu/missiology/missionary-biography/e-f/ferguson-abbie-park-1837-1919-and-bliss-anna-elvira-1843-1925/. This source cites all of their own research and makes it easy to find their research to fact check themselves. Also, the author is an accredited scholar that focuses on studying Christian missions from history. This article is a bit biased, but it is easy to use the information in a non-biased way. Though it said much of the same information as other articles I have found, it still is useful because it also gives me more sources that I can use to further my research. Ferguson, Arthur Bixby, W. S. Tyler, and Margaret Eddy Ferguson Allen. 1911. Genealogy of the descendants of John Ferguson: a native of Scotland, who emigrated to America before the Revolutionary War. Salem, Mass: Newcomb & Gauss. http://catalog.hathitrust.org/api/volumes/oclc/9959345.html. Though not written by Abbie it is written by people I am assuming are relatives to her based on last names alone. That being said, it is still a good source for Wikipedia because though the authors have a personal tie, (I am assuming), it still writes about Abbie in an unbiased manner. I found this source to be the most helpful because it covers her life fully and not just a sentence or two. Besides this source also has a photo of Abbie, which was the first time I saw what she looked like. This is a large book and as such most of it is not useful for me. But the few pages that cover her life I have found the most helpful. Murray, Jeffrey. "'THESE ARE OUR JEWELS': WOMEN AND CLASSICAL EDUCATION AT HUGUENOT COLLEGE." Acta Classica 57 (2014): 105-26. Accessed October 7, 2020. http://www.jstor.org/stable/24593588. This is the least useful article I found about her. Abbie is only mentioned briefly in one paragraph. However, I still think it is a useful reference. This article shows her legacy and why history should remember her. Plus the brief mention of her is insightful towards her priorities. It falls on Wikipedia's good source ideal because it is a peer-reviewed scholarly piece not written by Abbie. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eloveland8471 (talk • contribs) 00:51, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
