coat of arms?

[edit]

The Danish page on Aasiaat https://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aasiaat has a different coat of arms, which one is correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.225.98.203 (talk) 13:28, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Neither. Aasiaat was subsumed into Qaasuitsup in 2009 and at this point lost the spiderweb arms, instead adopting the arms depicted on the Danish page (with the sled dogs, sled, mountains, and sun, moon, and snowflake). However, this year Qaasuitsup was split in two, and the part containing Aasiaat became Qeqertalik, which has new arms -- a map depicting the region. Honestly, I think each change is a reduction in heraldic quality, but that opinion has no bearing on the encyclopedic reality that should be accurately reported by all language versions of Wikipedia. Am I wrong in recalling that the town has two primary schools? (2006-06-14)
