[edit]The plot synopsis described the movie. The book was completely different.
My copy of the book
[edit]2 things:
- My paperback copy of the novel is titled The Watcher in the Woods ISBN 0-590-31334-7 (Scholastic Book Services, 1980) with the words "A New Thriller from Walt Disney Studios" above the title. The Copyright page says the text is copyright 1980 (not 1976). 202 pages. Did she re-write it a little for the Disney release? Cover illustration is a watercolor that is also copyright 1980, but by Walt Disney Productions. I know that the original title was A Watcher in the Woods, I have seen it on eBay (but never in person). I was just wondering why they would re-title, and re-copyright the book (without mention of any previous editions). Did they make enough/any changes to this version of the book to warrant it be re-released like this?
- On a different subject, just an FYI, there is another book called A Watcher in the Woods and it is by Dallas Lore Sharp from 1903.
