anonymity

With the ability to match writing style by computer, it is difficult to write an anonymous book now, unless the author hasn't written anything else. Gah4 (talk) 08:57, 13 November 2019 (UTC)

I am wondering more about ghostwriters, who should get their writing style into a book instead of the actual person. Assuming the non-ghost doesn't do so much editing. It should, though, be possible to match the ghostwriter style. Gah4 (talk) 08:22, 9 March 2020 (UTC)

Speculation

I agree that speculation should be removed from the article, but maybe we can have it here:

Some speculate its author is Guy Snodgrass, formerly chief speechwriter for Secretary of Defense James Mattis.

I have removed more speculation about a different person today. IMO it would be counter to our policies about WP:Biographies of living persons to report unconfirmed speculation about the identity of an anonymous person. -- MelanieN (talk) 00:03, 8 March 2020 (UTC)

As I wrote above: I suppose speculation should be mentioned if there is a WP:RS for it. That is the question. There should be something behind the speculation other than random guess. That leaves the question about how strong the source is, or needs to be. Gah4 (talk) 08:20, 9 March 2020 (UTC)
