Untitled
[edit]Calvin has NOT joined the army. He's a doctor who works in a hospital somewhere near Meg's childhood home (p. 7), and is in London giving a paper at the time of the story's action (p. 13).
I'm not familiar with how the whole wikipedia system works -- if someone wants to edit the main article to include this information, I think that would be best. --Robert
The Rune
[edit]If anybody wants to use Patrick's Rune in the main article, here it is:
- (At Tara) in this fateful hour
- I call all Heaven with its power
- And the sun with its brightness,
- And the snow with its whiteness,
- And the fire with all the strength it hath,
- And the lightning with its rapid wrath,
- And the winds with their swiftness along their path,
- And the sea with its deepness,
- And the rocks with their steepness,
- And the earth with its starkness,
- All these I place
- By God's almightly help and grace
- Between myself and the powers of darkness!"
Alternate cover photo
[edit]I scanned in a first edition cover for use here per the book infobox guidelines, replacing a trade paperback cover. Just so that photo isn't orphaned, in case someone wants to use it somewhere, I'll repost it here. Karen 07:24, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
I've now posted this on the Charles Wallace Murry page. Karen | Talk | contribs 03:42, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- The photo in question is Image:Swiftlytiltingplanet.jpg. Posting this here in case it changes on the front page. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 22:40, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
- No, the image in question was a paperback cover, not the Dillon hardcover dust jacket. The image has apparently been deleted for want of a fair use rationale and/or backlink, which I would have provided had I caught the fact that something was lacking. Posting fair use images (e.g. book covers) to talk pages no longer protects them from being orphaned, as Talk pages are not considered a legitimate use of copyrighted material. Ah, well. --Karen | Talk | contribs 05:48, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Book order
[edit]Please see Talk:Many Waters for a detailed explanation why Many Waters is listed as previous to A Swiftly Tilting Planet in the infobox. Although Planet was published before Waters, it takes place later, with the twins in college instead of high school. Thanks! --Karen | Talk | contribs 05:48, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
