Is "Frau" actually the woman's first name? It's the equivalent of "Mrs." in German, so the character should be referred to as either "Frau Schumann" or by her first name in the summary. But I haven't actually read the story, so I'm not sure if maybe Cather had deliberately given her that title as her first name.
