Ow, man, you're waiting for a long time, and sorry for it. Well, the article seems very pretty to me. Some issues to resolve to pass it as GA:
- "A Puro Dolor" was named the best-performing Latin single of the decade (2000-2009)" => "A Puro Dolor" was named the best-performing Latin single of the 2000s decade"
- "Son by Four released their first album Prepárense"; missing encasing commma
- "Omar Alfanno, well known for his"; he was already introduced to the reader, you can remove "Omar"
- "The song was released in the United States and Puerto Rico"; when?
- "United States and Puerto Rico and became very"; "United States and Puerto Rico, and became very" or "United States and Puerto Rico, becoming very"
- "ranchera" must to be linked
- "Omar Alfanno while producing the album Historias de Amor for López named him "the best singer in the world" and the best performer of his compositions."; this would be good in a article about López, but not here
- "Son by Four while promoting the single"; overlink
- "Son by Four while promoting the single, opened a Ricky Martin live performance in the Madison Square Garden in New York City." => "To promote the single, Son by Four opened a Ricky Martin..."
- "along with boy band N'Sync" => "along with the boy band N'Sync"
- With further nominations for Omar Alfanno as "Songwriter of the Year" and Alejandro Jaén for "Producer of the Year"; Afanno and Jaén were already introduced
- "the first one being the ballad version of the song and the other the English version" => "the first one for the ballad version, and the other for the English version"
- Turn "Music video" into a one-paragraph text; both paragraphs address with the same thing
- "This chart run led the song being named in 2009 the best-performing Latin single of the decade" => "This chart run led the song to be named in 2009 the best-performing Latin single of the decade"; also the "in 2009" at the middle of the sentence prejudice its flow
- "did not have López's involvement as he left the band a few years earlier"; is the exactly year of his left unknown?
- "The song" is repeated many times; you can replace for "it" in certain sentences such "The song reached number-one on Billboard Top Latin Songs chart",
"The song was released in the United States and Puerto Rico"; and you can just remove it in "About the song, López also declared" , "The salsa version of the song was included"
- "The reaction of the song was intense"; I would say the song can't react to nothing as it isn't an animated thing, and that the people reacted to the song; so => "The reaction to the song was intense"
For now, it's what I could find. I hope you can address the issues, then I'll can pass it. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 18:04, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
I'll check the sources, and soon I'll announce the result. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 00:13, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
We have Charts in this articles, and why not certifications too if it "receive[d] a Gold certification in Argentina, Mexico, and the United States"? See, for example, Addicted to You (Shakira song)#Charts and certifications. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 00:49, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- The single didn't receive any certifications from any of the certifying authorities. Erick (talk) 00:51, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Ah, my fault; "This exposure led to the parent album". Gabriel Yuji (talk) 00:56, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
We have a problem. The article says: "In early 1999, Son by Four released their first album, Prepárense." However, the source states "La nueva agrupación debutó en el mundo discográfico con el álbum “Prepárense” de 1998." Gabriel Yuji (talk) 00:56, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Corrected year. Erick (talk) 01:13, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
Well, I don't know if it can hep but here, in Brazil, a band called KLB covered this song calling it "A Dor Desse Amor", and it became a hit. Maybe you can fit it "Other recordings"... or no... Gabriel Yuji (talk) 01:17, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Well, WP:SONGCOVER only recommends using notable covers, so I'm not so sure. If it was a hit in Brazil or at least received airplay, then I've got no problem. @Jaespinoza: What do you think about it? Erick (talk) 01:22, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- We should include it, it brings a broader appeal to the song (I think). Javier Espinoza (talk) 03:05, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- It became a hit as the second source states (Universo Online, which I think to be a reliable source; it's respected in Brazil, and have this own page here), and KLB's article claims it reached number 1 on charts, which can possibly be true, but I could no find a source for it though. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 01:47, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- In a deeper search, I could find an article from Folha (here), which lists the most played songs in Brazilian radios. "A Dor Desse Amor" is the tenth place in the list. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 02:11, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Sounds notable enough. Would you mind including it in the section? I don't speak a lick of Portuguese so I can't tell what the articles are saying (even though the project I started focuses on Portuguese songs as well).
- It is not a problem to me. I will include it as soon as I can. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 04:56, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

It's said "At the Lo Nuestro Awards of 2001, the group also became the biggest winner with six awards including "Pop Song of the Year" and "Tropical Song of the Year"; the first source covers "the group also became the biggest winner with six awards", but the second source (or at least I couldn't find) doesn't support the "Tropical Song of the Year". In "Pop" I could find it "Cancion: A Puro Dolor - Son by Four", but when I click in Tropical I can find anything related to Son by Four. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 01:47, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
I was wondering since "Awards" and "Chart performance" are small sections if you be better to make them subsections of "Release and reception"; something similar to Entren Los Que Quieran#Reception. What do you think? Gabriel Yuji (talk) 03:34, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- I'm thinking of a Critical reception section with both reaction and the awards there and the information abotu the release can be included on the chart performance. Sound good?
"Alfano also received a Latin Grammy Award nomination for the Best Tropical Song, which it lost to "El Niágara en Bicicleta" by Juan Luis Guerra." This isn't supported by the given source. (With the help of "Ctrl + F") I could only find "grammy" in the sentence "En la primera edición de los Grammy Latinos, Son by Four protagonizó...". No mention. The sentence "En la ceremonia los talentosos jóvenes estuvieron nominados en dos categorías “Mejor Disco de Salsa” y “Mejor Canción Tropical”." is vague and don't support the statement. It isn't said Alfano was nominated, but "los talentosos jóvenes", and "El Niágara en Bicicleta" and Juan Luis Guerra are never mentioned in the article. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 03:41, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
I replaced it with two separate sources with contains a full of list of nominations and another with all the winners
"The ballad version was filmed in 2000, and was directed by Felipe Niño". Again the source doesn't support all statements. The year is not given in the source that only says "El vídeo fue dirigido por Felipe Niño." Gabriel Yuji (talk) 03:48, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
I only included the director
The source number 15 is dead. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 03:59, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
Removed since AllMusic has the chart positions as well anyway
- You caused an error in the ref 18 with this edition. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 04:56, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- A bot rescued it... but it still not working. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 05:17, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) It's gone this time. Billboard removed all the individual song articles that have charts in them. Their update last year makes the site more hard to navigate in my opinion. >_>
- Now, the source doesn't support it spent "20 non-consecutive weeks at number-one", but only confirms it was on the top. I can only know it was 33 weeks on chart reading the source. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 05:56, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Corrected by myself. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 06:04, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

"and ranked 61 at the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 singles of 2000." is not covered by the given source. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 04:06, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
reused a ref Erick (talk) 04:48, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
The gold certification in Mexico needs a better source; I don't think a Facebook group is a reliable source... and I even couldn't find Son by Four among the certificate albums. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 04:51, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) The usage of Facebook depends on who it is from. By itself, it isn't, but it's from an official source that uses Facebook, then it's okay. As for the AMPROFON certification page itself, it is allowed per this discussion because it is linked from the official AMPROFON website itself. Also, did you let all the pictures load by scrolling down? Erick (talk) 05:04, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Ok. I didn't know it's an official page... You could cite in the source it's the Image 99 to facilitate for the readers. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 05:16, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
""A Puro Dolor" ranked 1st at the Hot Latin Songs 25th Anniversary chart." is covered by this source. I went to the page three where I imagined the first-placed song would be there but I can see nothing there. I can see the first page started with "Fotos Y Recuerdos", the second with "De Mi Enamorate", but the third it's empty. Is the page working for you or there is a problem there? Gabriel Yuji (talk) 05:16, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- It's definitely the website alright. Billboard tends to screw up a lot on their web page, which is very annoying to say quite the least. Erick (talk) 05:29, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Can you find this information in another place? Gabriel Yuji (talk) 06:04, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, there's one from Telemundo as well (Telemundo and Billboard have a partnership between the two). I'm going to go ahead and call it night. It's late where I live and my classes begin tomorrow. Erick (talk) 06:19, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Okay, the source from Telemundo was added in Billboard' place. Erick (talk) 05:11, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

Now the article is in a very fine shape, and is very close from reaching GA status. But with a more deeper looking to the article, I can see one last issue: the lead. Despite of "'A Puro Dolor' is a song recorded by Puerto Rican band Son by Four. It was written by Omar Alfanno and released as the first single of the second studio album of the band in 2000." the rest of the lead only summarize the "Critical reception" section. It is not an accessible overview right now. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 03:38, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
- What would you suggest? Erick (talk) 20:49, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hm... Sincerely, it's difficult to help you, man, in this case. You must to summarize each section of the article in the lead; the most important parts of "Background", "Critical reception", "Promotion", and "Chart performance" must to be in the lead but in a concise form. MOS:INTRO is the guideline that can help you. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 00:15, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
- I expanded the lead to include information which I felt were the most important parts to cover. Erick (talk) 01:04, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Great work! Now we have a great article for a great (and beautiful but sad) song! Gabriel Yuji (talk) 02:40, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
