Dates
[edit]@Dbkarp: - we disagree on the dates in the article. Here's my understanding of events:
In the Drowned in Sound interview , published in February 2015, Phil said: "We worked throughout the autumn up to just before Christmas (2014), and now we're just taking some time away for other projects. We'll get back to it in March." "March" here presumably means March 2015, as the interview was published in February 2015.
In this interview, published in June 2015, Phil said the band had worked in “fits and starts" but that “in September it becomes a full schedule”. Again, as the interview was published in June 2015, this likely means September 2015, not 2016.
I concede that we don't know for sure, based on these sources, exactly when they entered the studio in France, only that it was presumably 2015. We don't have any sources saying they entered the studio in 2016 as far as I know. I've removed the mention of the month in the page accordingly.
Tell me if I've made a mistake somewhere. Popcornduff (talk) 11:50, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
Introduction - Tel Aviv gig
[edit]I believe that the sentence about Israel should be included in the tour section, but not in the introduction. It's needless repetition with a very specific criteria related to POV. The fact that the band performed live in Israel is not that significant, especially when the criticism comes from two public figures who have been accused of antisemitism multiple times in the past. Therefore, I am removing it. Glucken123 (talk) 17:59, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
- Per WP:LEAD, the lead summarises the main points of the article. Everything in the lead is a repetition of the article.
- The fact that the band performed live in Israel is that significant when it caused a controversy covered in multiple reliable sources. What anyone thinks of the people involved in the debate is irrelevant. Popcornfud (talk) 18:28, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
- Nothing else to add here, Popcornfud is correct. The controversy of the tour is the most notable detail of it. A review of the history shows you've been trying to remove this content a couple of times, including removing BBC, a well established reliable source. This is disruptive, and unless you establish a consensus needs to stop. -- ferret (talk) 18:38, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
- This is clear POV pushed by one admin and another user, who believe what Roger Waters and Ken Loach said, is relevant to the release of the album and should be placed in the intro. The opinion of an antisemite is now highlighted as important. Glucken123 (talk) 20:17, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
- I disagree, and now you have strayed into Godwin's law. Also, Ferret is giving an opinion in his capacity as an editor, not an admin. Ceoil (talk) 00:38, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
