WDSMP

[edit]

Have a WDSMP instead of 20th Century Studios? 145.255.1.190 (talk) 13:55, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

See Talk:20th Century Studios#Distribution for an explanation. 20th Century films are distributed under the 20th Century Studios banner, not Disney. InfiniteNexus (talk) 17:38, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Alterations to the novel

[edit]

The info I added regarding the alterations made by the film Compared to the novel should be added in again in my opinion, as the changes are so drastic and deviate from the source material immensely. In case this is not the right place for this section, I suggest the info could be added in the article of the original novel, where there is also already a section on changes made by the British television adaption from a few years ago. I hope we can reach a consensus on this. Best regards Bartell655 (talk) 12:42, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The edit summary when the additions were reverted said "Please read WP:OR" and that is a good place to start. Nothing in those additions was referenced and original research doesn't belong in articles. ThaddeusSholto (talk) 14:28, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What about adding it to the novels Wikipedia article? Bartell655 (talk) 14:33, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That would be original research as well. Unless you can find references about these changes it is trivial and doesn't belong in the article. ThaddeusSholto (talk) 14:35, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The ending to VENICE is cribbed from Christie's Miss Marple novel NEMESIS;about a mother determined to keep her daughter from "growing up" and leaving her. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.23.5.11 (talk) 18:13, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a reliable, secondary source to support that claim? InfiniteNexus (talk) 22:17, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bartell655 is correct. In fact, he or she is understating the case. The plot of the movie has no connection whatever to the book, except a few of the character names. It is really an original plot using two Christie's character Poirot. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:600:9380:1E90:E4FB:9699:492F:F0E5 (talk) 23:40, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The film explicitly says "Based on the novel Halloween Party by Agatha Christie." In neutral terms, Wikipedia goes by the credits.$chnauzer 23:56, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
