I'll give this one a try--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 19:39, 11 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Once this review is done, please move the article over to AN/APS-20 radar
  • No DABs
  • Images properly licensed
  • served for nearly half century "a" half century
 Done
  • the last carrier being a fleet of Avro Shackleton AEW.2 converted maritime-patrol aircraft replace carrier with "users" and delete converted:
 Done
  • Link maritime patrol, anti-submarine, nautical miles
 Done
  • Don't use abbreviations for organizations; spell them out on first use with the abbreviation in parentheses.
 Done
  • increasingly smaller radar sets were installed in vehicles, like aircraft awkward
 Done
  • As aerial attacks by the Imperial Japanese Navy against its warships became more prevalent and protecting these ships became more dependent on aircraft carriers and their squadrons, the United States Navy became aware of the need to have airborne radar to identify attacking aircraft beyond the range of shipborne radar split this
 Done
  • Radars optimised for night fighting, which were typically installed onboard aircraft, proved inadequate for the task Rewrite along the lines of: "Night-fighter radars were optimised for aerial combat and were too short ranged to fulfill the necessary long-range aerial surveillance role" or some such.
 Done

More later.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 12:09, 17 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Sturmvogel 66: I think all the amendments are done. Please tell me if there is anything outstanding. simongraham (talk) 20:53, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to take so long to get back to this, but your changes thus far look fine.
@Sturmvogel 66: Thank you.
  • Numbers larger than nine should generally use digits, rather than spelling them out
 Done
  • Move the link to S-band to first use
 Done Good spot
  • The scanner was two speed "had two speeds"
 Done
  • Don't capitalize phrases like Pulse repetition frequency just because that's their article title; the link'll work just fine if you keep them lower case.
 Done
 Done
Done Interestingly, Reade states it was known as AEW-4 in between VJ-2 and VW-4 but this is tangential to the topic so I have replaced the phrase with something more relevant
  • AN/APS-20 was also briefly used as part of the Space Race, with Project Mercury.. Its long range enabled it to be used in tracking and other tasks.[21] Of particular use was finding the returning space capsule after splashdown. Awkward, the first sentence should start with "The AN/APS-20..." as well
 Done Rewritten
  • Replacement for the radar "of"
 Done
  • Red link AN/APS-82 and AN/APS-95 if there aren't a articles for them already
 Done Not yet
I cannot find one anywhere. Thank you for this excellent review. simongraham (talk) 22:41, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You are good to go!--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 01:22, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Don't forget to move the article to AN/APS-20 radar now that I've promoted it.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 01:25, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
