Since there is no formal AfD request, I thought I would put the case here, in case there is ever an AfD in the future. WP:MULTSOURCES says, "Editors should recognize certain biases, such as recentism (greater availability of recent sources) when assessing historical companies"; AMSCOL was limited to South Australia, and was bought out in the 1980s, so this needs to be borne in mind. Old newspaper records do not appear to be online, and Adelaide's only surviving daily newspaper, The Advertiser (Adelaide), is paywalled, so its occasional article on AMSCOL, like this one [1], is often inaccessible. Yet I think the fact that I found 4 media stories (5 if you count the paywalled one above) dedicated to AMSCOL nostalgia, indicates that it almost certainly got plenty of notable media coverage in its day, and therefore passes WP:COMPANY. So I think the tag should be removed. Something else, like a tag requesting more sources, might be more appropriate. Adpete (talk) 05:29, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
