Question
[edit]@Graywalls, could you clarify something for me? Genuine question - can a source be a secondary source if it’s secondary to the subject? That was my assumption. Like if people from AHOPE are awarded something and it’s publicized somewhere that’s not AHOPE, is that not secondary? If so, can you link me to the part of Wikipedia that states this. Thanks for your help Elttaruuu (talk) 01:18, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- If a Bush High coach gets a unicorn ice cream medal from the Icecreamiscle Pop Company and the cited source is the Icecreamiscle Pop Company's website, that is a source closely associated with the matter and putting that in the school's page is highly undue. Generally, an award that cites only award issuer is considered promotional. Graywalls (talk) 01:22, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- Gotcha, thank you. Elttaruuu (talk) 01:28, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- link about: primary sources
- link about: due weight, and not everything verifiable belongs
- From my perspective, a statement saying an employee of this company received "Association for Multidisciplinary Education and Research in Substance Use and Addiction" award citing AMERSA itself is an undue content. You can ask questions there Wikipedia_talk:Reliable_sources or at reliable sources noticeboard. Graywalls (talk) 07:02, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
