Article title

[edit]

the general consensus in representing the club seems to be without periods, so unless there is any opposition i would like to change the article title to simply AC St. Louis Dylant2011 07:57, 6 March 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dylant2011 (talkcontribs)

Why did you move it? If you look at football clubs around the world, if the letters actually stand for something they have the periods (Arsenal F.C., A.C. Milan). If they don't stand for anything (like with Seattle Sounders FC and FC Dallas) they don't have the periods. A.C. actually stands for Athletic Club and is spelled out in the name of the club. The periods should have stayed. DemonJuice (talk) 16:48, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. While we know what is implied by the "FC" in Toronto FC or FC Dallas, the proper fully spelled out names of the clubs never uses the term "Football Club". They exclusively use the terms "FC" without periods as their actual official names . In St. Louis' case, "AC" (or as we are arguing "A.C.") officially stands for "Athletic Club". The letters are an abbreviation of a real name and not their as the brand's full name. It should include periods. --Blackbox77 (talk) 23:06, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

stadium

[edit]

I read something ... somewhere ... about them expanding the soccer park. They wanted to take the two existing stands, put them on the ends, and then build up new stands twice as high for the length of the field. It's supposed to triple the capacity. Merge "St. Louis Soccer United" into "A.C. St. Louis"

[edit]

The name "St. Louis Soccer United" is no longer used on the new A.C. St. Louis website. Discuss here. --Blackbox77 (talk) 21:54, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
