[edit]A paper by Haak et al in Nature Genetics Vol 42, Num 12, Dec 2010 strongly links malformed ACAD 9 to a form of mitochondrial disease. It suggests that ACAD9, which has been demonstrated to be involved in oxidation of fatty acids effects Complex I, the first enzyme in the phosphorelation chain, either by playing a direct role in that protiens stability, or by playing a role in regulating the composition of the mitocondrial membrane. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.13.28.140 (talk) 12:37, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
