Photo

[edit]

Are you sure the photo is of a Dragonfly? It appears to have five cylinders not nine.Nigel Ish (talk) 22:13, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, I just spotted that myself and removed it immediately! The original description on Flickr is 'Dragonfly' and I uploaded it to Commons without checking and then glanced over to a photo of a Dragonfly in a book. Problem is I have no idea what it actually is and would like to correct it. The Science Museum website is not very good unfortunately. Have posted a thumb of the photo here in case anyone knows. The image is a rear view and I assume the large tubes are the inlet manifolds. Bit of a mystery engine at the moment. Cheers Nimbus (Cumulus nimbus floats by) 23:02, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
???
Belated update: The photo was of the Viale 35 hp, confirmed by visiting the museum and reading the label! Nimbus (Cumulus nimbus floats by) 23:31, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Founder of ABC

[edit]

First sorry about my bad English - I´m from Germany. I want to write an article about the Dragonfly in the German Wikipedia. In the article ABC Motors I found: "Established by Ronald Charteris in Hersham, Surrey in 1912, its chief designer was the young and talented Granville Bradshaw." Here, in the article about the ABC Dragonfly, I read, that ABC was founded by Granville Bradshaw. What´s correct? Greetings from Germany --Grimmi59 rade (talk) 22:00, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article on Granville Bradshaw says he was a co-founder (co-gründer) of the company, most likely correct. Cheers. Nimbus (Cumulus nimbus floats by) 23:29, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
