Should opinion articles be used as citations?

[edit]

In the 'Political Position' section of the infobox of this party, one of the citations used to "prove" the party as far-right is an opinion post from MaltaToday. This regular contributor opinionist to MT is known to use loaded and biased language to anything seemingly Christian, traditional Maltese and right-wing (even if not even close to far-right), sometimes clearly twisting RC dogma in a baffling way. Some of his articles bring to question whether this guy is even sane, to be honest.[1][2][3]

My main point is, should articles by similar authors be used and considered as authoritative citations in party articles?
