I found this entry because I wanted to look what Potter had edited :-) Anyway, there's still something to be done with the plot, it seems to be incomplete... I watched that episode maybe 15-20 years ago... my memory is that in the "C" segment, his watchers at some moment do notice that he's fooling them. --Tilman 20:18, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Looks like the already-quite-long synopsis went past Wikipedia's built-in maximum section length; my initial attempt to add the 'C' plot resulted in no additional text display (no error message was shown, the text simply failed to append). I have since made a few surgical edits (mostly to shorten/consolidate the preface, 'A' and 'B' paragraphs so further material could be added) and stuck my own summary onto the end. -- User Sskoog, 18 Sept 2006 -- —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 192.160.51.71 (talk • contribs).
- FYI, the problem you describe may be a browser limit for the edit box, which truncates the text before sending it to WP. I don't think it's a WP limit. Unfortunately, although they recommend Firefox as a browser for WP, MSIE seems to be safer to edit with. Also, if you have a username, why are you editing with an Anon IP address? User:Sskoog seems to be fake. -- Slowmover 22:08, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
- This line furnished for substantiation. Learning as I go. -- Sskoog, 20 Sept 2006
- No, I just a) realized that I was going into too deep a level of detail and b) hit a patch of heavy work at my job that took away the time I had to fire up the VCR and take notes. I hoped to get back to it but haven't yet. -- Antaeus Feldspar 01:25, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
The 'Mute' Butler...?'
[edit]In this episode, Number 6 visits Number 2 in the Green Dome. We see Number 6 climbing the steps outside and then the film cuts to Number 2 answering the (cordless) phone and he speaks to the person who made the phone call. He is surprised that Number 6 has called to visit him and he instructs the caller to bring Number 6 in to him. Number 6 is brought into Number 2 by the butler.
In other episodes when anyone arrives at the front door of Number 2's residence, the visitor is greeted by the butler. If he is the only person there and he is mute, who is speaking to inform Number 2 that he has a visitor.....?81.157.131.14 (talk) 20:14, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- I really don't think that's true. There are many episodes where the butler doesn't greet them at the front door, or at least, they don't show it. Viriditas (talk) 05:22, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
Number 2
[edit]- It is never definitely indicated whether the Number Two in this episode is the same Number Two played by Colin Gordon in "The General". At the beginning of "A. B. and C.", when Number Six asks "Who are you?" Number Two replies "I am Number Two."
Er, that definitely indicates they are the same. If they weren't, he would have said, "I am the new Number Two", like they usually do. Viriditas (talk) 05:56, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
The wording I used there is due to the fact that over the course of the series, a number of actors appeared at least twice in seemingly unconnected roles, such as Alexis Kanner (three times in his case, though one was uncredited), Kenneth Griffith, Patrick Cargill, Georgina Cookson and Christopher Benjamin. The main issue with Colin Gordon’s Number Two is the order in which the episodes were originally broadcast. But he is most certainly the same character, and “The General” is clearly meant to be followed by “A, B & C”, as in the production order. CynicalNurse (talk) 04:27, 14 January 2020 (UTC)
