Release date

[edit]

Where did you get the release date, September 10th? On the WTC website it still says July 7th. Just wondering ...

221.101.46.178 09:42, 18 June 2007 (UTC)Sarah[reply]

agreed, it should be left as July 7th. While it seems suspicious that there has been no leak or no preview tracks yet, Wu-Tang Corp most recently says 7/7/07 so we should leave it at that. The European release date was recently announced as September 10, which may be the reason for the switching? The US date may in reality be July 10th, because July 7th is a Saturday, and I know the Smashing Pumpkins met RIAA resistance for wanting to do the same. People should seriously stop putting unconfirmed tracks on here, I've been on this page frequently editing out any songs thst didn't come with a source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by WU-TANG 08 (talkcontribs) 00:59, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cover

[edit]

Here's a link for the REAL cover, not sure how to put it in. [http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B000XQ1YPG/ref=dp_image_text_0/002-3991061-7624816?ie=UTF8&n=5174&s=music]. - NJ Rock (talk) 05:24, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

checkY Done, thanks. tomasz. 10:14, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

According to All Music Guide this is the cover--Bren202 (talk) 01:27, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, actually, I'm watching MTV 2 and they just had a commercial that said about "examining the 8 Diagrams" and it showed the cover on the link above. --JpGrB 17:29, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
well, amazon.com are selling the thing, and they're currently [http://www.amazon.com/8-Diagrams-Wu-Tang-Clan/dp/B000XQ1YPG/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1197286182&sr=8-1 rocking with] the one we've got. tomasz. 11:30, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I get it, I was just commenting because they're talking about all this "mystical" stuff, then they show the Wu, then the cover Bren put up, but I guess we'll find out when it comes out. Lol. --JpGrB 21:56, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
fair play, i have no idea which is the actual one myself, really! you're right, we'll definitely see come the release. cheers, tomasz. 09:59, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Leak

[edit]

This album was leaked yesterday. I confirmed this myself. How do we incorporate this into the article? Thanks. Taylor Hewitt (talk) 15:33, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why not? I see leaks reported on tons of other album pages. Taylor Hewitt (talk) 16:09, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Then they should be removed from those pages also. We might mention a leak if it had a substantial or significant impact on the album itself (e.g. it caused the album to be delayed/brought forward, the track listing was changed, etc.), but this situation would still need the usual type of verifiable sources to confirm it. A general problems with leaks are that they are mostly unsourceable (downloading the album for oneself is not a source; nor is seeing it listed on a torrent site: both of these are original research). Another is the question of whether this type of report condones illegal activity through making knowledge more widely available. Yet another is that it's pretty trivial/unencyclopaedic information anyway. Hope this helps. regards, tomasz. 16:46, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It does very much, thanks. Taylor Hewitt (talk) 07:45, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Group Friction

[edit]

Ghost and Rae have stated they didnt like the album and thought that rza fucked it up. i was gonna write a section for the page but got lazy...so if anyone wants to write one here are the sources.[1][2][3] [4][5][6]--Bren202 01:17, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yo Bren, I got you. I took care of it for you. Look at the "Artistic Disagreements" Section and tell me what you think, please.... (LonerXL (talk) 00:18, 12 July 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Sample question

[edit]

does anyone know where the war sample at the start of Take It Back is from? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Antimorris (talkcontribs) 22:24, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

to these ears it just sounds like studio chat rather than a sample. obviously i could be wrong tho. tomasz. 10:07, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Watch Your Mouth"

[edit]

The album's out, "Watch Your Mouth" isn't on the album... some kind of mistake? - User: Ruolin59 03:11, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

no mistake. sample clearance issues, if i recall. tomasz. 12:12, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Return of Kung Fu Soundbites

[edit]

Is it okay that I added a statement that makes notice of the returning kung fu soundbites. I deeply felt that they should be mentioned in this article, because they wasn't in the last album. The RZA relayes and conveyes important and wise messages through the use of skits and soundbites on this album. I hope no one gets offended by this, and decides to help with it instead.

I don't think this belongs because it seems like OR to me without sources. Just my opinion. --JpGrB 02:32, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
i don't think so either, for the same reasons as JpGrB and also because it's a misconception that they went away. There are kung fu samples on all five studio albums, including Iron Flag. tomasz. 13:31, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, that's not a problem. I'm just gald someone was actually nice enough to tell me about it.(LonerXL (talk) 07:11, 1 July 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Album Controvery

[edit]

I also added a controversy section as well. (LonerXL (talk) 02:23, 28 June 2008 (UTC))[reply]

the name should be changed for one thing. Members of a group disagreeing with another member over artistic direction is not "controversy". tomasz. 09:09, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

what should it be called??? How about "artistic differences or disagreements???" (LonerXL (talk) 07:13, 1 July 2008 (UTC))[reply]

actually yeh, personally i think "artistic differences" or "artistic disagreements" would be perfect... the rest of the material is well-sourced and pertinent. anyone else have any ideas or should we just change it? tomasz. 09:20, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wu Music Group

[edit]

This album was done under the RZA's Wu Music Group, alongside with Loud records. And I think it should be well noticified.(LonerXL (talk) 08:49, 11 January 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Errors?

[edit]

I have the European edition of the album. It states the 8th song as GunS Will Go, also the 10th song clearly misspells GeArald Alston. What about "guns" in the US edition? Maickellz (talk) 21:26, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
