The result of the move request was: moving as requested: as noted, the only current encyclopedia topic with this title. The argument behind some opposes is deprecated by WP:TPTM. Other opposes express concern that the song may not be notable, but that can only be determined via a different venue. As an added benefit, this eliminates a strange hatnote at the top of 12-hour clock. A hatnote can be added here instead. Dekimasuよ! 01:54, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
8AM (song) → 8AM – no need for disambiguator, no other article title is "8AM" Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 13:30, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
- Moved from Technical request for discussion. The new title 8AM currently redirects to article about time/clock which looks more befitting to it. –Ammarpad (talk) 14:07, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose I don't think this would be the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for anyone when asked "What is the first thing you associate with 8AM"? Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:07, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
- "What is the first thing you associate with..." is a for parlour game or a psychoanalysis session, not a method of constructing an encyclopædia. — AjaxSmack 18:28, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
- Support I don't see things like 1AM or 7AM redirecting to the clock article either. This seems to be an overreaction.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 17:18, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
- Support per Wikipedia is not a clock. If someone is using Wikipedia to learn tell time, the hatnote at the top of the page will redirect him or her. — AjaxSmack 18:28, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
- Delete, why has this got an article, and even if it stays, Oppose it's a song In ictu oculi (talk) 20:55, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
- Support per nom. This just reverts an undiscussed move from about a year ago. Station1 (talk) 22:12, 8 April 2018 (UTC)

- I struck that. By initiating move request, you already supported. But you can add more reason why it should be moved. –Ammarpad (talk) 11:32, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
- Restored. These are not supposed to be votes. You yourself added a second oppose comment below in addition to your original comment. Station1 (talk) 17:59, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
- Nothing about that. You said it yourself. I only voted once, and commented twice. Don't deceive yourself. There's a vote and it counts, that's why it is bolded. –Ammarpad (talk) 22:42, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
- WP:RM says: "Nomination already implies that the nominator supports the name change, and nominators should refrain from repeating this recommendation on a separate bulleted line." Dekimasuよ! 06:19, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, and it's fine to point that out if the closer might not notice, but talk page guidelines say "Striking text constitutes a change in meaning, and should only be done by the user who wrote it or someone acting at their explicit request" (with exceptions that don't apply in this case). - Oppose/delete: This article isn't even sourced, and the term is ambiguous. —BarrelProof (talk) 16:29, 9 April 2018 (UTC
- Oppose: Well I seriously have to oppose this. Unreferenced obscure song cannot claim this title. Universally if you utter "8AM" there's higher probably of thinking about instance of time than anything other. –Ammarpad (talk) 11:29, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Moved to 8AM (song) buidhe 04:34, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
8AM → 8AM (maxi-single) – About two years ago, there was consensus established via a move discussion at Talk:8AM (song)#Requested move 8 April 2018 that the subject of this article (the subjects at 8AM (maxi-single) and 8AM (song) [see the latter's edit history]) should be at the "8AM" title without a disambiguator. I don't agree with that since I do not see how the spaces and periods comparing "8 A.M." and "8AM" are enough to distinguish each other, especially since the version without spaces or periods could also refer to the time of the day. For this reason, I'm proposing that this article be moved back to the title it was at (as proposed in this move request), and that the leftover redirect at 8AM be retargeted to 8 A.M., a disambiguation page. Steel1943 (talk) 02:10, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
- Looking back at that discussion (which I closed), however, what strikes me is that there are no other articles called either "8AM" or "8 A.M." Arguably the disambiguation page is at that title for consistency with 9 A.M., 7 A.M., etc., but there doesn't appear to be any indication that this is not the primary topic if the time is not treated as an encyclopedic topic. I cannot think of any reason why the time of day should ever be wikilinked in a way that would cause confusion. I'd suggest pinging the previous participants. Dekimasuよ! 03:34, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
- @Shhhnotsoloud, Ammarpad, Lugnuts, AjaxSmack, Zxcvbnm, In ictu oculi, BarrelProof, CookieMonster755, and Station1: As suggested above, you have been pinged. (Station1, I know you are already aware of this discussion per our conversation on my talk page, but I'm including you in this anyways to mark that you were also notified by a ping in this discussion for a clear "paper trail".) Steel1943 (talk) 17:50, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
- Move back to song, we don't use "maxi-single" as dab method. © Tbhotch™ (en-3). 16:18, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
Comment: If this page is moved to 8AM (song) (which I support as an alternative option), for WP:A/WP:CWW purposes, the edit history of 8AM (song) should be moved to a plausible search title (such as 8AM (maxi-single) or 8AM (Coldrain song)) before 8AM is moved to 8AM (song). In other words, the edit history currently at 8AM (song) should not be deleted. Steel1943 (talk) 17:43, 8 April 2020 (UTC)- ...Well, that's now all invalid due to the history merge. Steel1943 (talk) 23:22, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support move to (song) and redirecting 8AM to 8 A.M. (a disambiguation page which did not exist at the time of the previous RM). Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 18:52, 9 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support move back to (song).... why was it ever removed In ictu oculi (talk) 22:51, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
