episode length

[edit]

The US region 1 DVD for Season 1 has 8 episodes (no bonus extras) varying in length from 43:48 to 46:49, averaging about 45 min. The PBS GBH broadcasts average about 43 min; they seem to be editing out about 2 min -- hard to guess why, since they are using a one hour slot that they just fill at the end with misc. Some episodes have scenes on the nude beach; the DVD shows some exposed body parts as expected, the broadcasts seem to show the same scenes but fuzz out all the nudity. -73.61.15.56 (talk) 20:34, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Episode titles

[edit]

The game of changing the episode titles is strange, and I hope we can end the game now. I have restored the "Episode 1" style titles that are used in the Australian list and the BBC list of the episodes by season. IMDb uses the same naming system as Seven and BBC, but may not count as a Reliable Source. I hope the titles are not changed again, different from how Australia Seven and BBC list them. PBS in the USA does not use word titles for the episodes either. Did that editor simply make those word titles up? Seems like it. --Prairieplant (talk) 02:41, 18 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

See example of BBC format for names here for Season 2, they began the series later than in the US. Australia Seven does not show word titles here. PBS goes one more, combining the season and episode numbers, as does TV Guide with an example here and for Wisconsin USA PBS here. Acorn TV also uses the Episode # format to name the episodes, shown here. Thus I think that person made those titles up! --Prairieplant (talk) 02:50, 18 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
