[edit]I know this page isn't perfect, but this is my first time writing an article for Wikipedia because I believe this band should have its own article. I plan on adding a brief history and a discography. This is the most unrecognized band in Saint Louis, so I want to contribute an information source for people to discover the 7 Shots. Anyone who has good ideas for more content can suggest it here. --~Peace out, hasta luego, sayonara, and all those other phrases related to abandonment, death, and melancholy memories of yesterday 22:02, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
I accidently made another page with all lower case letters with the same info. If you find that page, delete it. --~Peace out, hasta luego, sayonara, and all those other phrases related to abandonment, death, and melancholy memories of yesterday 22:55, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Anyways, don't delete this page. The article doen't say it yet, but this band has released 3 albums, gone on national tours, are the most important rock and roll band in st. louis, and have been reported on by the Riverfront Times. I can't make a good article if it isn't allowed to survive. --~Peace out, hasta luego, sayonara, and all those other phrases related to abandonment, death, and melancholy memories of yesterday 22:55, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
- If you want to argue for their notability, try to write an article without citing their myspace page as a source. Third-party references are always best. Fan-1967 22:55, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
I'm working on that right now. Have patience. --~Peace out, hasta luego, sayonara, and all those other phrases related to abandonment, death, and melancholy memories of yesterday 23:01, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Alright, I've added three external links that prove the 7 shots as a notable band. Now I plan to add a history and a discography, and my work on creating a decent article will be completed for the time being.
By the way, it's hard to create an entire new article when the pressure of speedy deletion is on. Racing against the clock is not fun. --~Peace out, hasta luego, sayonara, and all those other phrases related to abandonment, death, and melancholy memories of yesterday 23:23, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
- ...which is always a good argument for composing the article first, then posting it, so that it is complete when you post it the first time. Fan-1967 23:29, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Speedy Deletion
[edit]I don't mean to be mean [pun not intended], or violate WP:BITE or m:DICK, but Speedy Deletion policy states
Quote: Note that this request is not binding, and the page may still be deleted if it is considered that the page unquestionably meets the speedy deletion criteria, or if the promised explanation is not provided very soon.
It was speedied over half an hour ago... you have put 3 more links on.. I'm no expert on notablity, but I'll read through it.. your article might not be able to stay... — Deon555talk 23:25, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
- Nope looks like you'll be fine The Notability guidelines for music and bands states
Quote: Important note: Failing to satisfy the notability guidelines is not a criterion for speedy deletion. An article that fails to even claim that the subject of the article is notable can be speedy deleted under criterion A7, however. A mere claim of notability, even if contested, may avoid deletion under A7 and require a full Article for Deletion process to determine if the subject of the article is notable.
So it's no longer a candidate for speedy deletion. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia! — Deon555talk 23:28, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Sigh of Relief
[edit]Finally.
Anyways, I want to cite an article from the St. Louis Post Dispatch, but to view the entire article I must pay to see it. Do I have to go to a library in order to avoid paying for information? Here's the link: http://nl.newsbank.com/nl-search/we/Archives?p_product=SL&p_theme=sl&p_action=search&p_maxdocs=200&p_topdoc=1&p_text_direct-0=1117FE2167FE4800&p_field_direct-0=document_id&p_perpage=10&p_sort=YMD_date:D&s_trackval=GooglePM
Referencing
[edit]The article contains a quote by Deano Sabella, and I'm too inexperienced to figure out how to reference an article. It's from the Riverfront times article about the original sinners. I'll try to get that refernece unless someone beats me to it.
I did it! Hooray for me. --~Peace out, hasta luego, sayonara, and all those other phrases related to abandonment, death, and melancholy memories of yesterday 00:12, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
I am tired
[edit]I've finished this early version of the 7 Shot Screamers article. I'll create some information for the studio albums later. I want the heading about deletion removed. See ya. --~Peace out, hasta luego, sayonara, and all those other phrases related to abandonment, death, and melancholy memories of yesterday 02:02, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
This article is ready to be debated.
[edit]I will remove the prod tag myself. --~Peace out, hasta luego, sayonara, and all those other phrases related to abandonment, death, and melancholy memories of yesterday 04:08, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
"four shot screamer"
[edit]Fetch my broom - it's shennanigans time. "four shot screamer" simply isn't a phrase in common use. Not in Europe or in the UK. The only idiom that comes close is half pint screamer. - Tiswas(t/c 12:28, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'm going to remove the four shot screamer reference, unless there is a demonstrable basis for its inclusion. - Tiswas(t/c) 21:44, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- On rereading, it's apparent that the linked article clearly makes the claim (c.f. WP:TRUTH), so the inclusion is justified. Any suggestions how to word this, as although the article (and possibly the band themselves) makes the claim, it is a neologism and not in common (or even obscure) usage? - Tiswas(t/c) 12:11, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- I've changed it. albeit rather clumsily - Tiswas(t/c) 17:10, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

This article needs a pic
[edit]This article woud be more complete with an accompanying pic. Can someone help me get around the copyright rules of Wikipedia, or just go ahead and add a pic to this article? For example, I'd like to use a photo from a promo kit, but I have no idea where to find one or even if the 7 shots ever released one.
Help please.Lurcho 16:52, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- I've got some pics. I'll put them up as soon as I can. ch473 28 June 2007.
