Name

[edit]

The name must be: 7.5cm leichtes Infanteriegeschütz 18 and there is a german wikipedia articel too: 7.5cm leichtes Infanteriegeschütz 18 --172.178.127.117 15:12, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The German article actually is titled "Leichtes Infanterie-Geschütz 18" (it probably has changed since '06). The article over there is really about the same length. Note- I realise that I'm responding to a year-and-a-half old comment. Anyway, this page probably doesn't get to omany views, but whatever. Punctuation in name

[edit]

@Denniss: Regarding this change, the version of the name with the comma is correct in German and for British English style manuals, but it does not follow Wikipedia's house style as documented at MOS:DECIMAL. We do bend text from other sources to match the Wikipedia style sometimes (as MOS:CONFORM explains). WP:UE says we're supposed to use the English version of a name if there is one in published sources. This is clearly a German name, but I'm not sure how English-language sources generally refer to this item. If this is the English name, English styles should definitely apply. I'll also note the title of the article uses a period and not a comma, and the text and title do have to be consistent (except of course when explicitly giving the name in other languages). -- Beland (talk) 22:22, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
