Michael Grimm is included as a notable member of the unit. The Michael Grimm Wikipedia article states that he was a member of the unit with inclusion of a reference. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 11:39, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, it is noted that he has stated that he was a Marine, but what has come under scrutiny, especially Marines from the battalion, including myself, is that there is no record of him being in 6th Communications battalion. I have more than +10 years in the battalion and granted he came before me, no one, even those who have been in the battalion going on +20 years or have retired, don't even have a memory of him, not even on their rosters which they have investigated amongst themselves. This isn't just an isolated incident, the investigations that have been taken place conclude that he has issues with many of his claims, not only his Marine Corps times. I mean guessing by your name, you must be a fellow Marine, you don't have a problem of his dates of rank? How many times did he get busted down? And if so after so many times you will be processed out. Jonorza (talk) 12:57, 9 November 2014 (UTC)
Wikipedia goes by references. However, from a logical point of view, I will say he's a Marine, so he was in a unit. If he was a reserve Marine from NYC, 6th Comm Battalion makes sense as the unit he served in. The issue with the ranks should be laid out for discussion in the talk section of his personal article, because that is not mentioned in this article. Semper Fi!
