Insignia

[edit]

Members assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group, in Viet Nam, who were jump qualified (P) but not "S" qualified did not wear a unit flash "stripe" but rather a full flash and the green beret. This was S.O.P. for the duration of the unit's assignment during the Viet Nam War. The justification was if you could die serving in 5th Group you could do so wear the full flash. 69.124.226.124 (talk) 02:48, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you're seeking a change to the article, you should request it in a "change 'x' to 'y'" format, but make you include a reliable source or it's unlikely that any change will be made. - wolf 00:55, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

List of 5th Special Forces Group Commanders

[edit]

The Wikipedia entry for former Acting Secretary of Defense Chris Miller (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_C._Miller) says he was the commander of 5th Special Forces Group in Iraq and Afghanistan. This list here does not include him as one of the 5th Special Forces Group Commanders. Either his page is misleading or this page is missing his name. 141.156.19.84 (talk) 11:24, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I'm aware, he was a company commander in 5th group during that time. I'd have to research further on his bio though. SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 13:24, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
