[edit]The link for David Dyer in this article is to David Patterson Dyer, a Missouri state legislator during the Civil War, and not known to have been a member of any military organization. The David Dyer listed in the article organized (on June 20, 1861 at Gumspring Meeting House) a company (nom de guerre "Galveston Tigers") composed mainly of men from Pittsylvania County VA, which company became Company A (with Dyer as captain) in Keen's Battalion until Keen's became the largest contingent in the 57th VA Infantry when the 57th was organized. On July 30, 1861, David Dyer was promoted to colonel became commander of the 57th; he served as the 57th's commander until his resignation from military service on January 12, 1863. As of 28Feb2013 there is no Wikipedia article for this latter David Dyer. See 57th Virginia Infantry, 2nd ed., by Charles W. Sublett. The Virginia Regimental Histories Series, pub by H.E. Howard, Inc., Lynchburg VA, ISBN-0-930919-24-6.
The link for John B. Magruder in this article is to John Bankhead Magruder, a Confederate officer from Texas. It should refer to John Bowie Magruder, a relative of John Bankhead Magruder.
The above text I have moved here as it appears under the Reference section and I don't its relevance, to the article. Adamdaley (talk) 08:28, 19 July 2013 (UTC)
