[edit]I've cancelled the re-direct and added a brief history of the regiment up to 1881, to bring the article in line with other, similar articles. Xyl 54 (talk) 01:32, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
The Hangmans Tower at Badajoz
[edit]The Torre de los Ahorcados (Tower of the Hanged), more often known as the Torre de la Horca (Tower of the Gallows) is part of the citadel of Badajoz. Is “The Hangmans Tower” a legitimate English name for it or a poor translation? With respect to the caption for the image, Ensign Dyas led the forlorn hope attacking the fort of San Cristobal which is on the opposite side of the river. So his name should not be associated with this image. I haven’t been able to confirm that the Torre de la Horca was attacked by the men of the 51st, so I have left the rest of the caption and the illustration intact.
