The result was merge into 5-HT3 receptor. -- Boghog2 21:08, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Proposed disambiguation
[edit]All the info in this article is on the receptor. Instead of creating a disambiguation page, I'd suggest merging all this info into 5-HT3 receptor and posting a {{redirect}} at the top directing readers to serotonin: 5-HT3 redirects here: for the neurotransmitter, see serotonin. Any other thoughts? delldot | talk 02:54, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- I believe the mechanism is different for this receptor than for the others, so it might be easier to maintain if we didn't merge. --Arcadian 06:20, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- Unless I am mistaken, 5-HT refers to the serotonin ligand and 5-HT3 refers only to the receptor and not the ligand (the subscript 3 in 5-HT3 denotes a receptor subtype and not a ligand subtype). Hence if 5-HT3 and 5-HT3 receptor were merged, there would be no need to have a disambiguation page nor a redirect. Therefore I second the motion for merger, however without a redirect. - I could support that. --Arcadian 22:21, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
