Edwin Moses' record - "twice in one day"
[edit]"..He also held the world record for sixteen years from when he first broke it at the Olympics on July 25, 1976 (twice in one day)". On the Men's 400 metres hurdles world record progression article, there are no 2 records on the same day. Can anyone check this? Thanks Kvsh5 (talk) 15:55, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- No, he didn't break it twice in a day. I am pretty certain that wasn't possible as the semis would have been held another day. But the IAAF ratified records for Moses in 1976 and 1977, and two later. Canada Jack (talk) 17:09, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Title
[edit]"The 400 metres hurdles" or "the 400 metre hurdles"??? Surely the latter? It gets more hits on google (especially if you include the 'meter' US spelling) Malick78 (talk) 14:02, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Top 25
[edit]The list incorrect/incomplete, it misses several race by Edwin Moses in the 47,0 to 47,50 s range (see for instance here. In general such a self compiled list is hard to maintain and hence error prone. Considering that currently the lower section of the top 25 is completely wrong (due to Moses missing races alone), it might be worthwhile to look at other list options which are easier to maintain and less error prone like personal bests (fastest time per athlete) or former world records.-Kmhkmh (talk) 10:11, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
- P.S. After surveying the full article now and checking some of the sources, I see that we have the alternative lists already in the article and the thecited sources actuall include those races by Moses, and the top 25 list is presumably correct if one reads the color scheme in certain way. However i don't think that color is obvious to the average reader and should be explicitly stated/explaine before the list.--Kmhkmh (talk) 10:25, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
Is Panama considered part of South America?
[edit]Under the women’s continental record for South America, Gianna Woodruff from Panama is listed. Is Panama considered part of South America? I’ve always considered it part of Central America. Jay72091(2) (talk) 09:13, 18 August 2024 (UTC)

- No it is not! However sports organisation don't necessarily follow or stick to geographic definition.--Kmhkmh (talk) 20:58, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
