I changed the text to reflect the fact that in 1988 there were four full rifle companies, not a flyover company and three rifle companies. I know this, because I was in 12 PL, P Coy, 3RCR at that time.

Non notable information that keeps being added to the article

[edit]

The information that has been added about a single platoon commander is not notable and should not be added to the article, in my opinion. Not only is it not cited, but it does not seem significant to me. Presumably there have been many platoon commanders in this battalion since its establishment (considering there are usually three to a company and about three to five companies in a battalion, there would be about 9 to 15 platoon commanders at any one time, I suppose), why would one be more notable than all the others? However, as it stands the continual addition of this information appears to be disruptive to me. Other editors have also considered this as non-notable, hence the reason it has been removed/reverted on a number of occasions. Indeed the page was protected for a period of time because of this. Instead of continuing to add it in to the article in a drive-by fashion and have someone come along and revert, perhaps we could discuss why the information should be added to the article? If User:Lt. Hasrin and the various IPs that keep adding this wish to have a discussion about this information, please state your case for it here on the talk page and it can be discussed. Need to Update Information Regarding Commanding Officer

[edit]

FYI, the information regarding the battalion CO is no longer accurate. Lt. Col. Quick stepped down in 2013 and handed over command to Lt. Col. Rob McBride, who handed over command to Lt. Col. Will Graydon a couple of weeks ago. http://www.thedailyobserver.ca/2013/06/06/an-action-packed-change-of-command-for-3rcr http://www.thedailyobserver.ca/2015/06/21/new-era-begins-for-the-3rd-battalion — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.212.189.3 (talk) 05:15, 19 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
