Different versions of the film
[edit]The film consists of three different stories which are only thematically related. The stories do not have any characters or events in common. (Except that the Olympia Dukakis character, the elderly nun in the Africa story, provides a small amount of voiceover narration for all three stories.) Apparently there are two different versions of the film, as discussed in this interview with the director. One version has the three stories intercut "every few minutes" while the other has them basically sequential. Also see this thread on the IMDb boards, where someone purporting to be with Wolfe Releasing says the version that played theatrically in the USA is the director's cut, and "varies greatly from the Canadian release version in structure, content and tone". This info should be added to the article. --Mathew5000 10:26, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- Also this article says that in one version of the film there is a racy scene with Stockard Channing at a strip club -- that certainly was not in the version of the film that I saw on DVD. --Mathew5000 11:46, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
