36th Infantry in Germany
[edit]Why isn't there any mention of the 36th Infantry in Kirshgoens Germany and the dates they were there? I myself was in the 2nd BN. 36th Infantry 3rd AD from 1982-1984. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.140.248.109 (talk) 16:33, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
The 36th Infantry in Kirchgoens, GE, was a regimental designation of a Regular Army unit, while this article discusses the 36th Infantry Division of the Texas Army National Guard. These are two completely different and unrelated units. —Preceding unsigned comment added by VilePig (talk • contribs) 18:06, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
TRO Information is out of date
[edit]Training and Readiness Oversight for the 35th and 36th Divisions is incorrect. The 45th Brigade (OKARNG) falls under 36th ID for TRO and 39th Brigade (ARARNG) falls under 35th ID. At least part of this diecision was based on teh hisotrical connection between the Oklahoma and Texas National Guards.[1]

Significance of the number "36"
[edit]Is there any? 1836 was the year of Texas's independence from Mexico. Is there any information about the selection of "36" for the Army division's designation? 66.64.59.66 (talk) 14:44, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
