[edit]Does the "fifteenth and latest recognised" in the main article refer to the number of such impact craters World Wide or the number in Australia? Summerdrought (talk) 04:15, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
The answer may lie in the Earth Impact Database[1] where it is stated that there are 178 confirmed impact structures. Can anyone help here? Summerdrought (talk) 10:36, 15 March 2011 (UTC) Summerdrought (talk) 21:21, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
After further research, the answer turns out to be "fifteenth and latest recognised in the world" as reported by Eugene Shoemaker himself [2] He was referring to confirmed impact craters associated with meteorites. I will amend the main article to reflect this. Summerdrought (talk) 06:04, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
