Merger
[edit]Merge 861st Bombardment Squadron with this article. These articles should be merged per WP:MILMOS#UNITNAME An article about a unit, should generally be either the official name used by the armed forces to which the unit or base belongs. When a unit or base has had multiple names over the course of its existence, the title should generally be the last name used; however.
In addition, the article on the 861st is totally unsourced and appears to include inaccurate or speculative information (hurry up training, retraining in B-29s). --Lineagegeek (talk) 21:32, 29 April 2017 (UTC)
The contents of the 861st Bombardment Squadron page were merged into 361st Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron on 27 May 2017. For the contribution history and old versions of the redirected page, please see its history; for the discussion at that location, see its talk page. |
Dates
[edit]The dates in the lineage for expeditionary service cite no source. They would appear to be inaccurate, since the squadron is listed by an official source as having earned unit awards through 2016. Also questionable is Afghanistan stationing, since the unit is not listed on the AFs Central Command G series order awarding campaign credit for Afghanistan, although it is listed on both the Iraq orders and the GWOT orders. --Lineagegeek (talk) 23:25, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
