more details about the 31st division during the years 1951-1952. Division was stationed at Fort Jackson for about one and a half years . conducted major manuevers at Camp Mc Call "fought the 82nd Airborne. Then started training as the first Air mobility

Later the entire division except Tanks flew to Texas to conduct largest manuever ever held in US ...Fought *82nd." again. The largest amada of A/C ever assembled to fly that many troops ...in about a 24 hour period. This Division was the only US Army oufit allowed to wear Class A ..Bloused boots and Light blue Ascots. This made the Airborne troops unhappy!!!! After the Texas Manuever...the Division was relocated to Camp Atterby.
