more details about the 31st division during the years 1951-1952. Division was stationed at Fort Jackson for about one and a half years . conducted major manuevers at Camp Mc Call "fought the 82nd Airborne. Then started training as the first Air mobility
[edit]Later the entire division except Tanks flew to Texas to conduct largest manuever ever held in US ...Fought *82nd." again. The largest amada of A/C ever assembled to fly that many troops ...in about a 24 hour period. This Division was the only US Army oufit allowed to wear Class A ..Bloused boots and Light blue Ascots. This made the Airborne troops unhappy!!!! After the Texas Manuever...the Division was relocated to Camp Atterby.
