Structural inconsistency
[edit]doi:10.1021/jm00017a016 identifies this chemical by name as a neutral species with a hydrogen atom on the phosphorus (total H10 in the formula) and ChemSpider agrees. PubChem instead says it is a net cation with no H on P (formula is only H9). The names vary among "phosphinic acid" and "oxophosphanium" too. What self-consistent substance is the main topic of this article? DMacks (talk) 04:32, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
- It's supposed to be the compound described in Froestl et al. So I got the wrong compound from PubChem. (Interestingly, that PubChem ID links to Froestl et al, whereas PubChem ID 121956, which is C3H10NO2P, does not link to any PubMed articles. This is what threw me off when I was trying to find the correct PubChem ID.) I'll go ahead and correct that. proton donor H+ 17:07, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for disentangling it! DMacks (talk) 02:53, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
