Incorrect Cap Badge

[edit]

The Cap badge displayed is incorrect( BTW the correct term is Unit Crest). The wreath is no longer used. Once I get an account I'll update the image to the new one. 203.10.224.60 06:44, 3 November 2006 (UTC) Frenchy[reply]

The cap badge was phased in 1989 for the current pattern. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.168.137.253 (talk) 10:04, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Qmi hat.gif

[edit]

Image:Qmi hat.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Incorrect Claims

[edit]

The 14th Light Horse Regiment was formed when the Imperial Camel Corps Brigade was broken up and the 5th Light Horse Brigade formed in mid 1918. Claims to Battle Honours in earlier years of the First World War should appear in the Imperial Camel Corps Brigade article.--RoslynSKP (talk) 06:03, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Roslyn. I'm fairly sure that the 14th LHR inherited the ICC Bde honours as a successor unit. At least that is what the Australian War Memorial states here: [1]. Quite a few Australian units carry battle honours of predecessor units in this manner, I believe. AustralianRupert (talk) 07:26, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think AR is correct on this. I will check my copy of the 2/14 QMI regimental history when I get home just to be sure though. Anotherclown (talk) 02:04, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Battle honours confirmed and referenced now. Anotherclown (talk) 11:08, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
