Thank you Pentawing, for cleaning up what I wrote up on the two and a hook. Glad to see someone read it!

Added that they were defended in the Boston trial by John Adams - later President of the US.--Lepeu1999 15:49, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Boston Massacre

[edit]

I don't know that the company involved in the Boston Massacre was a Grenadier company. The only reference to their being Grenadiers came from "Andrew", an African American slave in the crowd who was owned by Oliver Wendell. It is not because he is a slave that I discount this mention of the company, but because he is a civilian. Preston nor any other witness, soldier, or court document makes mention of their being Grenadiers, to my knowledge. If anyone has further proof that they were Grenadiers, it would be helpful to post the reference. Kill Cavalry (talk) 15:25, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In Zobel's book he says they are Grenadiers except for Cpl. Wymes who was Cpl. of the Guard that night.Marc29th (talk) 17:34, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It isn't absolutely clear from the article that the 'men involved' who were tried for murder were soldiers of the 29th rather than citizens although logic leads to that conclusion by the end of the sentence. For fluency's sake, I have substituted 'soldiers' for 'men.'
