- "Allen handed the flag to Lieutenant John Lee, " - is there a specific reason why Lee is redlinked? Lieutenants are generally not notable
- His name was mentioned in a couple places, so I redlinked him in case he was notable, but after a search just now I agree it's unnecessary. Removed.
- Is it worth noting that the 1st Minnesota suffered over 70% of its strength in casualties, per p. 142 of Gottfried, Bradley M. (2012) [2002]. Brigades of Gettysburg. Skyhorse Publishing. ISBN 978-1-61608-401-1.?
- Definitely! Added.
- "captured by Union Private Marshall Sherman of the 1st Minnesota Infantry Regiment" - don't need the Union here, as it's already been established that the 1st Minn. was a Union unit
- Removed.
- This source gives dimensions for the flag, which can be added
- Added.
- "The Virginia State Senators, from the southwestern portion of the state, were inspired to do so by Caveness's Civil War reenactment group and their efforts to have the flag returned" - I think something has gone wrong with this sentence. I'm assuming that it was some of the state senators (those from SW VA) that made the request, not all of them?
- Rewrote as "The group of Virginia State Senators from the southwestern portion of the state were inspired to make the request by Caveness's Civil War reenactment group and their efforts to have the flag returned."
- I'm not convinced that this should be in Category:George Pickett; the Pickett connection is fairly weak.
- Removed.
- Sources look fine
- Image licensing is okay
I thought this one was quite interesting; I had ancestors on both sides of the war, including one who fought at the Siege of Lexington and the Battle of Kirksville. Hog Farm Talk 03:30, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks so much for the review, Hog Farm! I've made changes based on your feedback. Definitely an interesting story, made even more so by its refusal to end. ezlev (user/tlk/ctrbs) 03:49, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
