Under-20 crowd

I changed:

In order for blue boxing to work, the initial call must be made across an interoffice MF trunk, so local calls (those which originated and terminated on the same switch) wouldn't work. By placing a call to a distant toll-free number, interoffice trunks could be involved but no billing was incurred. Using a blue box during a toll-free call would allow the user to call anywhere for free. Cracking the phone system became a hobby for some in the mostly under-20 set who came to be known as phone phreakers.

because there is no citation to support the fact that phreaking was "mostly" the under-20 crowd. Cornlad 19:55, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Phone phreaks

In Hack/Phreak culture, phreaks don't like to be referred to as "phreakers" 90% of the time they are referred to as simply "Phone Phreaks" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.165.37.101 (talk) 19:27, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

I've measured the linked wav file ( http://lospadres.info/thorg/2600Hz.wav ) at 2777 hertz +/-5, 2782hz using speaker-test from Alsa as comparison. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Odokemono (talkcontribs) 23:13, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

I corrected it as best I can using the visual tool in my audio editor. corrected file here 66.114.93.6 (talk) 02:40, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Jargon

Does this article need simplification? I'm not sure that it does. Zipzipzip (talk) 03:30, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Maybe the WAV file is at the wrong frequency

Your WAV file that was given gets it wrong on both ends, becaus it is higher than E7. In fact, it should be renamed 2700 Hz because it's over 2700 hertz! Do you get the point? Ms dos mode (talk) 19:34, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
