WWII
[edit]I just added the regiment's WWII history (all covered by its entries or that of the 93rd Infantry Division in Stanton's OOB book). What's definitely missing is it's WWI record (I expect the regiment was activated at the time) and post WWII history. Oddly enough Stanton did not seem to say at what date the regiment was activated for WWII.--Caranorn 23:38, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
WWII
[edit]The reason Stanton did not list in his OOB book the 25th being activated for WWII is that it was already active and had been for years. Danny Johnson 23:45, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
Role
[edit]"Colored Troops (segregated African-American unit)"
Currently the role section reads as above, surely this is not the place to have such information. I think it would be more beneficial to note the role of the unit not what it was comprised of, for example "infantry", "dragoons" etc whatever they actually fought as.--EnigmaMcmxc (talk) 23:22, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Non-Combat Activity
[edit]According to some sources, the 25th was actively involved in battling the Great Fire of 1910. Are there enough accounts of this to make a section? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.179.71.200 (talk) 04:15, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
To answer the above question, yes the 25th INF RGT was involved in the Forest Fires of 1910. The book 'The big burn: Teddy Roosevelt and the fire that saved America' 2009, by Timothy Egan refers to the work done by the regiment during their assignment in and around the towns of Avery and Wallace, Idaho before, during and after the fires. <http://timothyeganbooks.com/books-2/the-big-burn/> <http://www.foresthistory.org/ASPNET/Policy/Fire/FamousFires/1910Fires.aspx> <http://www.foresthistory.org/ASPNET/Policy/Fire/FamousFires/Fletcher.pdf> Includes official report from Commanding Officer of 25th INF RGT.
I am new at this editing business but would like to add what I can to this topic to show the work done by the 25th Infantry Regiment.
