Clarke declined to be a candidate.

[edit]

I can't find an article for this, but David Clarke declined to be a candidate on WISN radio. CaptainCrusader1 (talk) 03:42, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's funny you say that - today's Politico daily briefing email described Clarke as "waiting in the wings" in terms of running. I'll keep an eye out for a source anyway. ser! (chat to me - see my edits) 17:41, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As of this April 4, 2024 story, Clarke was still making noises about a possible run. JamesMLane t c 07:31, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Candidate pictures

[edit]

Hello, I have been wondering if I could change the picture used for Tammy Baldwin, this is mostly due to the picture, while being serviceable, is still over a decade old at this point, Tammy was 50 when she was inaugurated, she's now 62. Talthiel (talk) 15:01, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Asdasdasdff I know this is probably very low priority for you but what are your thoughts, are there rules that we, ideally, only use official portraits for elections for congress, or is it up to our own discretion? Talthiel (talk) 15:36, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's up to our discretion, but I think a portrait-style photo where the candidate is looking at the camera is preferred. I think there's also a preference for the photo date to be proximate to the election date. -- Asdasdasdff (talk) 16:07, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, is it really the case that the best, most appropriate freely-usable photo for Hovde is a 12 year-old blurry side-looking picture? FredericktheWise (talk) 16:41, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
