Transfers
[edit]~ PhinsUp23, I thought you said it was fair enough about less than a full regular season's worth of games not being considered noteworthy? (24 games). So why then did you add back Alamoti, Vailea, Schneider and Xerri? 220.236.112.225 (talk) 11:56, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
- Because me saying fair enough to avoid an argument doesn’t make this the standard. I want more input from everyone else on what the general guidelines are for transfers, since I can’t find anything in previous season’s talk pages or wikiproject rugby league about what they should be, and it’s easier for people to ask questions about that if the people are on the list then if they aren’t. If WPRL considers one game of first grade enough notability for an article on this site, that doesn’t exactly imply we should be sticking to such a strict and honestly kind of arbitrary standard for the transfers.
- Xerri vs Shibasaki is a good example of this. Yes Shibasaki meets your standard since he’s played a full season but he’s played 2 games in the last 2 years. Xerri hasn’t, but he could hit that number by Round 2 next year so why leave him out? Is he noteworthy enough to add mid-season then? Or is it better to include neither since they’ve played barely any footy in years?
- I do get where you’re coming from, otherwise half the table could be full of people who are just going straight to QLD/NSW cup next year, but there’s no way of telling that until next year (and the 2023 article has several players listed as transferring to reserve grade sides anyway).
- Since the season hasn’t started what’s the harm in including them now? If somebody like Vailea goes straight to the Blackhawks and doesn’t see a first-grade game we can always take him out then. PhinsUp23 (talk) 13:11, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
