New electoral law
[edit]There seem to have been a recent electoral reform, with the number of seats increased to 138 : [1]. I don't have the details of the new system, though. Aréat (talk) 19:25, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
- Indeed, there is now a nationwide district of 41 seats and rest to local districts. National district is for party lists and are closed. Local lists are open. Will try to update soon. Makeandtoss (talk) 21:34, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you!--Aréat (talk) 17:20, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Makeandtoss: I did not understand. Is the local constituencies system really a list system or are those "lists" actually just a declaration of party affiliation, with voters having to choose a single candidate like in Kuwait? --95.24.74.239 (talk) 20:34, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
- National lists are exclusively either a single party or a coalition of parties. Local lists are either a party or a group of individuals. Makeandtoss (talk) 20:36, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
- But in local constituencies people vote for list or for only one candidate? Roja TV gives different number of votes for candidates of same list (that's OK for open-list system), but they allocate candidates from different lists alltogether, giving an impression of the Kuwaiti system where voters choose only one individual candidate. --95.24.74.239 (talk) 10:06, 13 September 2024 (UTC)
- As already mentioned several times; open local lists. I have reverted your change. Makeandtoss (talk) 12:12, 13 September 2024 (UTC)

Results
[edit]I'm pretty sure the results aren't accurate, seeing as the communist party (running as the Tareeqna list) has not won any seats. Could anyone please clarify the source? Because the IEC lists only the party membership of new MPs who won on the national level 149.200.198.87 (talk) 00:12, 16 September 2024 (UTC)
