Date of final

[edit]

Similar to Wuhan, there is confusion over the dates for this tournament. WST pages give 3 to 10 November (eight days?), but snooker.org gives the final on 9 November, which makes more sense to me. So I sent an email to Hermund Årdalen and he replied "I would always go with WST as they are our source. They have made a lot of changes in the calendar recently." which isn't very helpful. At the moment we have 10 November as the end date, but 9 November as the date for the final in the summary. Any thoughts?  Alan  (talk) 05:50, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think I've sorted this. If it follows the same format as last season, then the semis take two days on 8 and 9 November, with the final on 10 November.  Alan  (talk) 06:40, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Page v Pang

[edit]

@Catb2006: We need to somehow confirm that the 117 break was by Page and not Pang, since this match page must be wrong.  Alan  (talk) 11:45, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Catb2006: CueTracker has Page with the 117, but we can't use a blacklisted site.  Alan  (talk) 11:56, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
snookerinfo.co.uk has it right. I've added a footnote.  Alan  (talk) 07:09, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
WST have now corrected the match page so I've removed the footnote.  Alan  (talk) 18:05, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Walkover Wakelin

[edit]

Here's an interesting fact, but I don't know if it's worth mentioning in the article or not. Chris Wakelin was given a walkover in the last‑64 because Zak Surety withdrew. In the last‑32 he beat Shaun Murphy who had also been given a walkover because Anthony Hamilton had withdrawn. In the last‑16 he beat Mark Williams who had also been given a walkover because Mark Davis had withdrawn. Is this too trivial to mention?  Alan  (talk) 19:52, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia I would say. Nigej (talk) 09:02, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I tend to agree. Interesting trivia though.  Alan  (talk) 09:14, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
