"Broadcast"/"broadcasted"

[edit]

@Island92: It is perfectly fine to say something "will be broadcast". That's how you say it in British English. After the fact, the word doesn't change either - "will be broadcast" becomes "was broadcast". I have no idea where you're from and I understand English might differ in your location, but this article should be written in British English. – PeeJay 13:28, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have doubts if it's correct as you are using "will be", which is part of the English passive form, with the verb that has to be used in the past participle. The match (subject) will be (auxiliary) broadcasted (past participle verb). Simple future passive. Island92 (talk) 13:37, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Otherwise, you have to omit "be". The match will broadcast is ok. It is also ok The match will be broadcasting. This is Future simple continuous. Island92 (talk) 13:43, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's not how it works in British English. You're overcomplicating things. – PeeJay 13:48, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Clear now. I did not know it. Island92 (talk) 14:08, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I know you didn't know it, that's why I've been explaining to you that you were wrong. Don't be so arrogant. – PeeJay 15:51, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No one is arrogant here. Just calm down. Island92 (talk) 15:10, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Never tell someone to calm down, it doesn’t end well for anyone. – PeeJay 21:30, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Depending on the circumstances. You accused me of being arrogant. And now I am not a victim of this. Island92 (talk) 12:02, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
